Non-wetting by nonferrous molten metals
Lightweight for easy handling
Easily cut, drilled, sawed or machined
Easily impaled over studs
Easily joined with available cements
Contains no asbestos
Lower installation cost than most conventional refractories
Requires less structural support than heavy refractories

Rugged Composition

Thermalite 2600 F vacuum-formed board is a blend of high purity and alumina-silica ceramic fibers, combining both organic and inorganic binders for handling strength and board integrity at high working temperatures. It resists oxidation, reduction and attack from most corrosives except hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and heavy concentration of alkalis. Water or oil won't damage it and, upon drying, it regains its excellent physical properties.

Excellent energy conserver

Low thermal conductivity and low heat storage characteristics make Thermalite insulating board an outstanding energy conserver. Thermal shock resistance permits faster cycles without cracking or spalling.

Standards and Options

Standard thicknesses from 1/4 inch to 4 inches.
Standard board sizes: 24" x 36" and 24" x 48"
